General Information
As well as working on my own projects, I happily take commissions for oil paintings! The default painting surface I use is fine linen canvas with a wooden frame (unless otherwise requested), which allows for a high level of detail.
Please note: I will never work with generative AI, nor will I accept commissions based on images or “sketches” made from AI. None of my work has been altered or created with AI, and it has no place in the art world whatsoever.
Process
I always varnish with Gamblin Gamvar Gloss, which saturates the colors and creates a uniform, glossy surface. However, if a matte finish is preferred, this can also be requested.
After varnishing, the sides of the canvas are painted with black acrylic for a uniform finish. I prefer this to white edges, as it allows the colors to “pop” and matches with any wall or surface that the painting is displayed against. As with everything else, a different color can be requested but black is the default.
Finally, a wire is added to the back so that the painting can hang without a frame. This involves screwing in two “D-rings” on the back of the wooden frame, usually about a quarter of the way down from the top of the painting, with the wire intricately looped through the rings and tightened.

Pricing
Pricing is based on a formula: the “square inch method” (the size of the painting in square inches multiplied by an artist rate of 3) plus an added percentage of 30% for additional subjects:
Price = Base size price + (30% of base size price)
Example: The customer wants a 30 cm x 30 cm portrait of their dog.
I first convert the cm into inches. 30 cm = 11.8 inches (rounded down). I multiply 11.8 x 11.8 to get 139.24, and then multiply this value by 3 to get 417.72. For the sake of simplicity, I round this down to €417.
If, however, the customer wanted an additional subject added to the painting (perhaps another dog, or a different animal altogether), I would add an additional percentage for the extra time, labor and supplies involved.
The equation would then change to: Price = €417 + (30% of €417).
30% of €417 is €125, so I add this together for a final price of €542.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this method of pricing, or for additional clarification. Note that I always round down with my calculations, for the sake of clear, solid numbers.

Cat Eyes
Colorful little squares of beauty: 10×10 cm realistic oil paintings of cat eyes! I have become completely obsessed with creating these. Not only is the intricacy and depth a fun and rewarding challenge, but also because bizarre new colors can be used in place of traditional, real shades that actually exist in nature.
Each cat eye is entirely unique and hand-painted. Customers can choose from designs already made, or commission their own pet’s eye instead. And this doesn’t only apply to cats. Dogs, birds, reptiles, bugs- all pets are welcome!
If you have your eye on any of the pre-painted designs, or want to get a customized painting of any eye you can come up with, just contact me with a photo and let me know! We can keep it traditional or use crazy colors. Anything is possible.
Pricing: Each eye is €50, with a discount on multiple eyes: 2 for €80, 3 for €120. If you wish, you can also be contacted daily to see the progress of your eye(s). Some people just like to see how the process is done!
If you’re interested, please contact me!

Pet Portraits
Recently I have been asked about the possibility of custom pet portraits, and I am happy to say that this has become quite a passion of mine!
Just like with the Cat Eyes, I can paint any and all types of animals. The pricing is the same as any other commission, and a simple background can be added at no additional charge. We can discuss what size you prefer and how the subjects will be arranged in the painting. All I need from you are a few high resolution photos of your pet(s), and I will keep you updated each step of the way.
Please note that I am comfortable with painting any subject (this applies to general commissions as well). I believe that all species deserve to be loved and represented, and I will always show respect for them in my work and outside of it.
I will continue to keep this section updated with more photos and examples of pet portraits that I have painted, so stay tuned!

Testimonials
“Pictures do not do any justice to what Sarah has created for my mum!
We first saw Sarah at her amazing stall in Elfia, surrounded by her artwork, and myself and my partner just knew straight away that we were going to order some custom pieces.
The two paintings have captured my mum’s cats so perfectly that when we looked at them we knew straight away who they were.
I am beyond grateful to Sarah for capturing their likeness, especially after losing one of them a few years ago, and bringing her back to life!”

“I am very happy with the picture I commissioned.
[Sarah] was always friendly and kept me updated on the progress of the picture every step of the way.
The picture was also very well packaged when it was shipped.
I can only recommend her.”
